Wikipedia came up blank when I searched "Mercurius." Matt Dilling, founder of Lite Brite Neon (below c. 2001), visited the photography department at NYU to give a hint as to how to contact Mercurius. If you heat up beeswax and watch it flow a vision will come, and as an added bonus you'll also get a cute candle.

Painter, (and occasional neon enthusiast!) Deborah Kass, developed this piece for her show at Paul Kasmin Gallery. Based on an early Bruce Nauman piece, Deb's hand drawn spiraling text, after a Louise Bourgeois quote, is made up of 9 different colors of glass, laid out and fabricated here at LBN. In what may be a first for an NYC painter, Deb's piece appears on the cover of the trade magazine Sign Builder Illustrated this month, along with an article about Lite Brite. Neon Cow for the Lindy and Grundy meat company recently opened in Los Angeles! Neon filled tubes mounted to a mocha colored, hand painted aluminum body. Delicious.
